York Townhouse

York, North Yorkshire

Private Client

This magnificent Regency-style, five-storey town house in the heart of York provided the perfect backdrop for a full-service project encompassing interior design, architectural lighting design, smart lighting control, and full project management. With its generous ceiling heights and original architectural features, the house offered both an opportunity and a responsibility to create something truly special. Having worked with the client on previous projects, a shared vision and strong level of trust allowed us to push boundaries and create a home that is both distinctive and deeply personal.

Every space within the home was thoughtfully designed in tandem from boot room to playroom, living room to bedrooms, kitchen to bathrooms carefully selecting materials, colours, finishes, and lighting together. Each room has its own identity, yet flows seamlessly into the next through a consistent, considered design language.

Lighting was fundamental to the success of the project, responding to the architecture, materials, and bespoke furnishings, with mood and emotion guiding every decision. An integrated smart lighting control system allows pre-programmed lighting scenes to be recalled at the touch of a button, adapting effortlessly to different activities from practical everyday use to intimate dinner parties and relaxed movie nights.

The York Town House is the result of shared vision, trust and a willingness to step away from the ordinary. The finished home is a unique, beautifully crafted interior that reflects not only our approach to lighting and interiors but also the personality, lifestyle, and aspirations of our client.
